I know this is another gross post, but it is too ridiculous not to share.
We were leaving to take a visit to the cabin with some friends this last Friday,
so I made my list and headed to the grocery store Friday late morning before Jack's nap.
We get the cart with the car so Jack can enjoy the trip and I can get done quickly.
We are almost done and Jack starts whining and saying "Uh poop".
And yes, he was smelly.
But we were almost done so I made him stay in there till we get to the register, then let him out.
As I pick him up I feel something gross.
Yup, the dirty deed had gone up his back to almost his neck.
Gross.
And all over the car.
Gross.
So I grab him a chapstick and tell him not to move.
He was PERFECT and stayed right by me as we rung up our purchases.
I ran my card to pay for it.
DECLINED.
Ran it again,
declined.
Ran it again,
declined.
Seriously??
So I have them put the cart to the side and put the order on hold so I can run across the street to the bank to figure out what in the world is going on.
I NEED this food and I have no other time to come.
Oh yeah, and my kid is covered in stinky poop.
I take the cart and thoroughly clean it with their disinfecting wipes
(Jack still just stands by me with his chapstick) .
Then I head to the car, grab my thing of wipes praying there are still some left.
SCORE!
So I strip my child down buck naked in the grocery parking lot and use all the wipes I have.
(As he's standing there exposed he laughs and says "Uh cold" and pretends to shiver, made me laugh.)
Luckily an extra diaper too.
Put him in carseat, run inside to grab a bag for the nasty mess.
Go to bank, there is some kind of hold on my card because I used it in WY 3 weeks ago??
Get cash and sucker for Jack, back to grocery store.
Oh yeah, Jack had rubbed chapstick on every showing part of his body by this time.
(Deanna, Liz and Jenny, you know about this fetish.)
Park in fire lane because I do not want to get Jack out (he is partially naked, only diaper and boots).
Pay, groceries in car.
Whew.
What should have taken me 45 min, took me 1 1/2 hours.
Get home, and ask, did that really just happen?
Sweet. And who says a Mom's day isn't eventful.
(Jack giving Radar a hug. A little something to get your mind off so much poop.)
