It's interesting to me how history is forgotten. This event used to be well known, yet I had never heard of it. I thought the author did a good job combining all of the little facts and history of whaling and Nantucket with the actual story to make it readable and interesting. I was actually surprised at how easy it was to read, and entertaining, with all of the information it had. Not only a 'good read', but an informative one as well.
