Follow up DM and this week DM

Here is the follow up on the Dinner Menu:

Lemon Cream Pasta with Veggies - Definitely a resounding y-e-s. Very yummy. Pretty easy. Added bonus, another recipe that I can use my hordes of zucchini and yellow squash that I get in the summer. My list is growing for these vegetables, and that is good. Because it's all we eat in the summer.

Ravioli Vegetable Soup- Will be a repeat soup for sure, but don't know that's is a 'favorite'. It was just spicy enough for Kev but not too spicy for me.
We disagree on spiciness values.
If you don't like spicy you omit the crushed red pepper.

Chicken, Zucchini and Biscuit Kabobs- Made these last night. Easy Peasy. And what wouldn't taste good dipped in melted butter and honey. Really. Not life changing, but will be adding to the rotation. Plus I think kids would love it. I didn't have kabobs so I just put a zucc, biscuit and chicken on a toothpick and it worked great.

Overall the new recipes were a success.  And with Kev being gone so much as of late I didn't have to do a new menu till today.
This is me smiling.
Mind you we had a couple meals at families over the weekend and a night of mac and cheese.

So the DM for this week?
Shredded Beef Tostadas-new recipe for the week.
Spaghetti and Meatballs w/salad and homemade french bread- Kev says it his his favorite spaghetti EVER. Even more than his moms. wow. which is saying something.
Hamburger and homemade fries and fruit-trying a new combo for the burger
Broccoli and Cheese Chowder- soup of the week. One of my personal favs.
Probably chimichangas with the leftover shredded beef.

Under budget for the week even WITH buying a few extras! Good because it's case lot time and I need to stock up on a few things...

Sounds yummy! I meant to tell you that we use a $50 a week food budget too. What always messes up the month is going to costco, I have to be very controlled there! Here is a fav recipe of mine that I just cooked last night:

I like that you can adjust the spiciness, country style pork ribs are often on sale (get lean if you can) and I like it with mashed potatoes and a veg.

Good luck with your menu this week!
