Easter!

We had a great Easter! The bad news is that I had charged my camera and then forgot to bring it around with us!! Oh well.

Saturday Kevin was able to take some time off work and so after stopping by my good friend Jenny's baby shower (she's having a boy as well) we headed out to Kevin's Aunt Patricia and Uncle Gary's house for some family time. Sadly we missed the Annual Easter Egg Hunt, but we did get time to chat with family and enjoy their company.

A little side note, last year at the Egg Hunt it was so hot that we all had to sit in the shade. This year was NOT WARM. While they 'said' the temperature was 51 there was a cold wind chill that definitely cooled it down. Bring on the heat!

Kev and I just ran errands, went to JCW's for dinner and hung out the rest of the evening. For Easter I got The Bee Movie so we watched that as well. Well I fell asleep half-way through, but I was really tired. If you haven't seen the film, I recommend it, very funny. Especially if you like Jerry Seinfeld.

Sunday we taught our little class, and they were great. I am always amazed at how much the comprehend about some gospel principles. Like the resurrection, not an easy thing if you think about it, but number one- they knew the story really well, and two- they understood (to the best of their abilities) what that meant. Like I said, to the best of their abilities, but for 5 year olds, they impressed me. I do have to mention how funny it was in the opening prayer when one of the little boys said "Please bless that the easter bunny won't leave footprints on the front porch. And please bless that the easter bunny won't leave footprints on the window either." Awesome.

For my side of the family gathering we were in charge of a potato dish, so we decided to do twice baked potatoes- even though they take awhile, they are TASTY and it was EASTER. It was fun to do it together and while the potatoes were baking we went on a little sunny warm walk with Ollie. After we gutted the potatoes Kev mashed and made them, he is the master of mashed potatoes- always creamy and always yummy. Also we had a little Easter Bone Hunt for Ollie. Yes, we love our dog. And yes, it was hilarious. So I took him outside while Kev created the trail of treats that lead to the surprise. When he finished it took Ollie all of two seconds to catch on. He saw the first treat, gobbled it up and sniffed out the next, then the next and so on. No prodding needed he ate them all the way to....the GIGANTIC bone. It's a large rawhide bone that looks hilarious when he is carrying it around. He wouldn't leave it alone, he took outside to go to the bathroom with it, if he does happen to leave it and I go to pick it up he runs after me and takes it away. He's a kick. It was fun and definitely a new tradition. I am sure our kids will love helping out.

Dinner at my parents was fantastic as usual. Great company, great food. The kids did an Easter Egg Hunt and got all hyped up on sugar (I must admit that I had my fair share as well). It's always great to just sit and chat as see what is going on with everyone. Ivy's 'stories of the week' was a kick to hear. She has a three year old boy and twin boys that I believe will be two years old this summer. They are BUSY BOYS. For instance, just ONE of her stories from the week consisted of her going to the bathroom, coming back to find that they had cracked an entire pack of 18 eggs on the floor (both hardwood and carpet) and were driving their trucks through it over and over. Yeah. I don't really even know what to say about it but Wow.

Anyway, it was a great Easter Weekend and I love that Spring is coming. Hope you all had a great one as well!

sounds great. By the way, JCW's is my all-time favorite burger joint. One of my favorite memories was when I had Emma at the American Fork hospital and Alex brought me cheese fries and a strawberry milkshake everyday. Well I guess having Emma was my favorite memory but JCW's is a close second!
